Your Foot Care Team

A Chiropodist is a regulated primary health care provider who provides assessment, treatment and prevention of diseases, disorders or dysfunction of the foot and lower leg by therapeutic, surgical, corrective, orthopedic or palliative means.

Chiropodists are authorized to:

  • Cut into subcutaneous tissues of the foot

  • Prescribe designated drugs

  • Administer by injection into the foot; a designated substance

There are four fully bilingual chiropodists who are ready to welcome new patients at the Aquilon Foot Clinic. Stephanie Shlemkevich D.Ch, Danielle Huneault D.Ch, Chantal Lachapelle D.Ch and Keesha McLaughlin D.Ch studied Biomedical Sciences at Laurentian University and graduated from The Michener Institute of Education at UHN in Toronto.

Their training brought them to Toronto and Ottawa in order to gain clinical experience treating patients but their love of their hometown, Sudbury, brought them back to the north. Stephanie, Danielle, Chantal and Keesha are members of the Ontario Society of Chiropodists and of the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine. Aquilon's chiropodists are passionate for healthcare and prioritize treating their patients in a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. They look forward to serving new and returning patients to ensure that their feet remain happy and healthy!
